Why Regulators Are Letting Staffing Fraud Run Wild, And Who’s Profiting 🐷💼

Ohhh, don’t get me started. Actually, do. Because Miss Piggy has had it up to here with the so-called “watchdogs” who are napping while fraudsters throw a full blown rave in the middle of the staffing industry.

Let’s call it what it is: staffing fraud is out of control, and the regulators? They’re either looking the other way or stuck in a bureaucratic tango, twirling around each other while scammers cash in and disappear. You’ve got the Department of Insurance pointing to Labor, Labor pointing to the WCIRB, and the WCIRB sipping lukewarm coffee muttering, “That’s not our jurisdiction.”

And while the grown ups are bickering over whose job it is to actually enforce the law, fraudsters are out here living their best lives. Rebranding, repapering, and reselling the same fake coverage like it’s a clearance sale at a shady boutique.

So who’s profiting from this regulatory siesta?
Not you.
Not your workers.
Certainly not the honest staffing agencies trying to play by the rules.

No, darling, it’s the scammers, the shell companies, the fake TPAs, and even a few black market brokers who are lining their pockets with money that should’ve gone to real coverage, real claims, and real protection.

And let’s be honest: some folks on the inside might just prefer it this way. A chaotic system makes it easier for the wrong people to slide right through. And the longer enforcement stays soft, the more these fraudsters multiply like bad sequels.

So no, I’m not holding my breath for a crackdown. And neither should you. Because the only way to stay safe in this glitter covered mess? Do your own vetting. Verify your staffing partners. And make noise, loud, fabulous, unignorable noise, until someone finally puts a stop to this farce.

Miss Piggy’s watching. Are you?

The Fresno Fraud Family, Walstad’s Rebranding Fails to Fool the Law 🐷

Well, my darlings, it seems the tea is particularly scalding today! Mrs. Piggy here, ready to pull back the curtain on yet another act of audacious deceit. Enter stage left: Michael Walstad, now trying to reinvent himself as Michael A. Betrovian . Yes, you heard that right. The head honcho of the infamous Fresno Fraud Family has gone full-on undercover, slapping a shiny new name on his old, tired bag of tricks. But here’s the catch, no one’s buying it, least of all the law. Buckle up, because this tale is juicier than a watermelon on a summer’s day. Rebranding Gone Wrong Changing your name from Walstad to Betrovian might sound fancy, but it’s about as effective as putting lipstick on a pig. The Fraud Family’s trail of deceit is long, winding, and riddled with enough legal violations to fill a textbook. Piggybacking, A Fraudulent Tail (and Tale) in Workers' Comp 🐷💼

Oh, darlings, do pull up a chair because Miss Piggy has a scandal to unravel that’s juicier than a gossip column and dirtier than a pigsty. It’s the sordid tale of piggybacking,   a fraudulent scheme in workers’ compensation that’s turning the staffing industry into a circus of greed and deceit. And let me tell you, the stars of this show aren’t just shady; they’re downright villainous. Now, for the uninitiated, piggybacking isn’t some cute term for teamwork. No, no, it’s when a staffing agency skips out on buying its own workers' comp insurance and instead borrows another company’s policy like a bad houseguest who never leaves. These fraudsters, the so called Piggybackers, parade their fake certificates of insurance (oh, the audacity! 🐽) while unsuspecting workers and businesses are left footing the bill when things go south. Take Mike Ersling, for instance, a name that deserves its own place in the fraud hall of fame. This porky perpetrator shoved $300 million of payroll ...
